About the Coon Rapids Enterprise
ESTABLISHED 1881 | COON RAPIDS, IOWA

Charles Nixon, 51, editor and publisher of the Coon Rapids Enterprise, grew up in the newspaper, which his parents bought in 1961. After high school, he studied journalism at the University of Iowa, graduating in 1979. His parents both died in the early 1980s, “and for the past 28 years, I’ve been here, for better or worse,” he said. He and his wife, Laura Lake, have four grown children.

SpacerThe other main staffers at the Enterprise are Tina and Tia!

SpacerTina handles the subscriptions, pagination, and typsetting. She's a Guthrie Center High School graduate who now lives with her husband, Ed, in Manning.

SpacerTia is in charge of advertising and handles much of the newspaper's photography needs. In fact, she's a graduate from a photo school in Omaha, NE and has her own in-house photography studio. Tia grew up in Coon Rapids and lives here with her husband, Trevor, and their four boys.
